Many adults will say that we teenagers are hard to understand, but one thing that seems to come natural to every teenager in the world is music. Every teen loves to listen to music, play music, or write music, and some even do it all. We all have different tastes in music; some of us listen to hip-hop whereas others choose punk rock. Some like jazz while others dance to techno. Kids may never agree as to which genre is best, but one thing is certain, nothing beats live music. Whether it’s your favorite music star playing in a packed arena or maybe even your own local band, nothing beats the energy and thrill of the blaring music and the flashing lights onstage. And here in Connecticut you will find there are some pretty cool places to catch a great show.

Rockvemberfest
Andreanna Buccheri
If you're interested in a night of great music and being out with friends, Rockvemberfest is a fundraiser that's worth attending. Hosted by the Niche at the Wethersfield Evangelical Free Church, this second annual rock fundraiser will be raising money for Touch Global, a nonprofit organization that helps starving children in Sudan. For this reason, there is a $5 recommended donation at the door. The five bands that will be playing are Kaelium, Robbing the Vatican, Welcome to the Family, The Tenion, and A King Worth Killing. For those who attended Rocktoberfest last year, this year will be a little different. According to senior Joe Schuberth, who is helping to organize the event, there will be heavier music this year and veterans will, "...know how to get the crowd going." So be sure to attend on November 14th at 7:30, because this awesome night of music is for a great cause.

Frog and Toad Comes to Wethersfield High

Mark Linn Baker, a former graduate of Wethersfield High School, has won awards for his acting in Broadway. One of the roles he plays is that of Toad, in the children’s book, Frog and the Toad. Most people have read this children’s book, which is very popular among elementary schools. In the past Wethersfield High School wanted to put on the play of Frog and Toad, but in order to do that, we needed to obtain the rights to put on the play. Since it’s not our concept, rights are important to obtain in order to put on the play. Baker is a very important figure in Broadway, as he is the son-in-law of Arnold Lobel (writer of Frog and Toad). He was recently able to get Wethersfield High School the rights to the play, which is now scheduled to perform on November 6, 7, and 8.
